Puerto Sagua Restaurant
About This Spot
Walking into Puerto Sagua on Collins Avenue is like stepping into a vibrant corner of Miami Beach where the rhythms of Cuban culture hum gently beneath the surface. The space welcomes you with a relaxed, unpretentious energy — a place where locals and visitors alike find comfort in familiar flavors and a genuine connection to tradition. It’s not just about the food here; it’s about the moments you share while savoring each bite, the scent of freshly brewed cafecito filling the air, and the quiet exchanges across the tables that make it feel like more than just a meal.
The atmosphere moves at an easy pace, where you can settle in at the bar, watch the behind-the-scenes dance of the kitchen, or tuck into a cozy booth with friends or family. There’s a warmth in the service that frames the experience, the kind that makes you feel seen and at home even if it’s your first time stepping through the door. This approachable vibe invites you to linger, whether you’re here for a breakfast filled with rich coffee and savory empanadas or to share a hearty supper that echoes decades of Cuban cooking traditions.
Puerto Sagua’s menu quietly celebrates the best of Cuban comfort food without fanfare, offering dishes that feel lovingly prepared and full of depth — from bites that balance sweet, salty, and smoky, to soulful stews and perfectly toasted sandwiches. Portions are generous, inviting a shared table where stories are as much a part of the gathering as the food itself. Don’t miss the chance to pause over a homemade sangria or a cold Cuban beer, each sip carrying a little piece of the region’s spirit.
In many ways, this spot serves as a living bridge between past and present, where the culinary heritage remains undiluted and every visit feels like returning to an old friend. There’s a reason those who come through its doors often become regulars, drawn back by the familiar joy of authentic tastes and the unspoken community that thrives in its cozy corners.

Puerto Sagua has always been a South Beach classic, but coming back this time meant so much more. The food was absolutely amazing, authentic, flavorful, and comforting in that way only true Cuban cooking can be. The service was warm and attentive, making the whole experience feel welcoming from the moment I walked in. This restaurant is also one of the last places my little brother loved to visit before he passed, so being back here brought a mix of memories, gratitude, and peace. It felt like reconnecting with a part of him, surrounded by the flavors he enjoyed so much. Thank you, Puerto Sagua, for the incredible food, the wonderful attention, and for holding a little piece of our story. I loved being back, and I’ll definitely return again.

This is the kind of local you would have to try. Food is amazing, cuban coffee is a must have! This restaurant oozes so much originality, care for their craft, culture, and everything you would want to see in a local restaurant. I will definitely be back here when we return to Miami. Best place you can go to to feel even just a little of cuban culture and cuisine. This place is authentic and doing an amazing job retaining its character and authenticity. It doesn't ride along with the vibes of change. It is its own and that makes it very powerful and its own standards.

White bean soup was really good.y boyfriend’s oxtail was amazing and the star of the night. The Cuban sandwich was alright. Service was quick but definitely brusque. I would come back again for the good food.

Authentic Cuban experience!!! Very casual, family friendly dining. Our waiter was so helpful, as 3 out of 4 of us had never experienced Cuban food before. He explained the dishes and made terrific recommendations. We began with the fried plantains a must try... Delicious! We had Ox Tail Stew, Pork Shoulder, Skirt Steak and Fried Pork Chunks... All served with rice and beans and/or Yuca. All of it was fantastic and such great flavor. If you want real Cuban cuisine... this is your place, don't miss it!

We’ve been to Puerto Sagua twice – once for breakfast and once for dinner – and both times were amazing! The restaurant serves classic Cuban food, and everything we tried was delicious. We especially recommend the Pollo Asado with arroz, frijoles, and plantains – juicy chicken, perfectly cooked rice and beans, and so much flavor. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. They’re happy if you speak Spanish – it’s a great place to practice – but you can just as easily speak English. The restaurant itself has a charming, old-fashioned look – it’s been around for over 50 years, and that’s exactly what gives it its warm, nostalgic atmosphere. You really feel comfortable there, like the world is still a little simpler and calmer. A truly authentic spot for anyone who loves real Cuban food in a cozy, welcoming setting! ????????????????????????
